The Navajo County Medical Reserve Corps exists under the management of, and in support of, Navajo County Public Health Services District. Wade Kartchner, MD, MPH, is the director of Navajo county's health department. Because preparedness is an integral part of the health department mission, Dr. Kartchner utilizes the office of Bio-Terrorism to promote all preparedness for hazzards.

kits on a humanitarian mission trip to Paraguay.
To promote the department's efforts in preparedness, the office of Bio-Terrorism -Emergency Public Health Preparedness and Response Program develops plans for the distribution of vaccines, antibiotics, chemical/nerve agent antidotes, and symptomatic treatment packages to all areas of the county. Don Walker is the Program Manager for the Bio-Terrorism program.
Priorities for the Bio-Terrorism team include providing education and training sessions on Bio-Terrorism, infectous disease outbreaks, and other public health threats. These training opportunities are primarily designed for Medical Reserve Corps volunteers, health care providers, first responders, and stakeholders.
