Navajo County Medical Reserve Corps: Q & A

Why We Need You To Volunteer?

In Arizona, local health departments will operate mass dispensing or mass vaccination clinics in response to a Bio-Terrorism event or public health emergency. In order to accomplish this task in a timely manner, thousands of volunteers will be needed to operate these clinics.  These volunteer doctors, nurses, pharmacists, dentists and emergency medical technicians are assisted by hundreds of trained community volunteers.

Who Volunteers?

There are many reasons to volunteer as there are volunteer jobs.  Volunteers have a wide range of skills, training and interests including active and retired physicians, nurses, pharmacists, dentists, and emergency medical technicians.  Non-medical volunteers provide support in clinic and field response, data input, security, traffic and transportation management, language translation, community outreach and education, and much more.

How Much Time Must I Agree To Volunteer?

Medical Reserve Corps volunteers agree to work according to their own schedules, and there are no minimum time requirements. We can provide rewarding experiences, whatever your schedule. Emergency and disaster volunteers agree to be available on-call.
